This project aimed to modernize the Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation brand with a revamped visual identity that better aligns with its intended diverse and authentic image.
The Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department works to enhance community wellness by providing recreational opportunities, open space, and nature education programs. This project reflects its existing goals and branding.
Design Direction
This rebranded logo incorporates elements of the original logo, blending traditional elements with a more modern and simplified design. It also focuses on the greenways, and the two green colors help bring in the aspect of nature.
Logo Explanation
Examples of rebranded icons include sports (basketball, baseball, tennis), bathroom symbols with a gender‑neutral option, and several park‑related icons.
